It depends on who you are? A coach - a parent or a child. A coach would want serious students who are ready to learn the game of basketball. Parents would want their child to enjoy the camp. A child would like to become a good basketball player - but may or maynot have the right attitude.
When such diverse WANTS are present - it is difficult to create a convergence. So an experienced coach would probabaly mix his `actions' - so that everyone is satisfied. But then indiviudal coaches would `think' individually.
HENCE AN EDUCATION PLAN FOR THE COACH - THE PARENT - THE CHILD is a must. When they understand each others' `goals' - it will result in meeting most of the aspirations of these diverse groups.
THE COACH must be able to classify the students - serious ones must be given their due while maintaining a `pleasant' face for the students who have come to enjoy the game.
THE PARENT must understand that learning a game entails developing discipline in attendance - regular interaction with their child as well as the coach helps improve understanding of the child's needs.
THE CHILD must be able to develop a proper attitude to get the maximum benefit of such camp for otherwise it is a waste of time.
ALL THREE must develop an `interaction' programme so that benefits of these camps can be maximised.
